The inspiration for my painting in oils of Zoe in her stylish new salon originally came to me when on a visit with my granddaughter  to Zoe’s old salon in Accrington.

After 24 years of hairdressing Zoe had a dream of owning her own salon with a significant birthday and a wonderful husband, Zoe’s dreams came true when her husband surprised her with a salon of her very own.

Zoe gets the keys to her new salon and professional life.

The story reminds me of STEEL MAGNOLIAS [1989] – Official Trailer  , you may have seen

this iconinc film with many great stars.

Dolly Parton played the salon owner in a salon created by her husband (no where near as glamorous as our Zoe’s salon).

My granddaughter Jasmine was mesmerised by the beauty treatment, a start of a long life of elegance (I hope).

Once I saw the elegant decor of Zoe's new salon I knew I had to produce a painting for her to celebrate this landmark in her life and career

Whilst in her salon it gave me a chance to study the light, the décor and to start to incorporate it in a new portrait of Zoe and my granddaughter, inspired by the original photograph taken in a different salon.
